Description

A festive and elegant appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry shaped into mini wreaths, topped with creamy feta, vibrant pomegranate seeds, and fresh herbs. Perfect for holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz (115g) feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry Wreaths:
    • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into circles using a cookie cutter or glass. Use a smaller cutter to remove the centers, creating wreath shapes. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Add Toppings:
    • Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil on each wreath. Top with crumbled feta cheese.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
  5. Add the Finishing Touches:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with honey and balsamic glaze (if using). Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and fresh herbs. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  6. Serve:
    • Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the puff pastry shapes ahead of time and bake just before serving.
  • Substitutions: Replace feta with goat cheese or ricotta for a milder flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven for a crisp texture.
