Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz (115g) feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry Wreaths:
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into circles using a cookie cutter or glass. Use a smaller cutter to remove the centers, creating wreath shapes. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add Toppings:
- Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil on each wreath. Top with crumbled feta cheese.
- Bake:
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
- Add the Finishing Touches:
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with honey and balsamic glaze (if using). Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and fresh herbs. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Serve:
- Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Make Ahead: You can prepare the puff pastry shapes ahead of time and bake just before serving.
- Substitutions: Replace feta with goat cheese or ricotta for a milder flavor.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven for a crisp texture.
