Description

Irresistibly delicious Firecracker Hot Dogs with a sweet and spicy kick, perfect for any cookout.


Ingredients

  • 8 all-beef hot dogs
  • 8 soft hot dog buns, lightly toasted
  • For the Firecracker Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • For the Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or pepper jack)
  • 1/2 cup diced red onions
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and lime juice until smooth.
  2. Prepare toppings by dicing onions, slicing jalapeños, shredding cheese, and chopping cilantro.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F).
  4. Grill hot dogs for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally until heated through and lightly charred.
  5. Toast buns on the grill during the last 2 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Spread firecracker sauce inside each bun.
  7. Add grilled hot dog, then top with cheese, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro.
  8. Drizzle extra sauce on top if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the level of spiciness by modifying the amount of sriracha or jalapeños.
  • These hot dogs can also be made on a grill pan if you don’t have access to an outdoor grill.
  • For a crunchier texture, add crushed tortilla chips on top of the hot dogs before serving.
