Description
If you’re looking for a healthy, crunchy, and naturally sweet snack, these Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are the perfect treat! With just a few simple ingredients, you can transform ripe bananas into crispy, lightly caramelized chips with a hint of cinnamon and sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm bananas (not overly soft)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent browning)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar or brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt (optional, enhances flavor)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Bananas
- Peel the bananas and slice them thinly (about ⅛-inch thick) for crispier chips. Thicker slices (¼-inch) will be chewier.
- Toss the banana slices in a bowl with lemon juice to help prevent browning.
Step 2: Coat with Cinnamon-Sugar
- In a small bowl, mix together the coconut sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Lightly brush the banana slices with coconut oil or melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over both sides.
Step 3: Air Fry the Banana Chips
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 2-3 minutes.
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket—avoid overlapping to ensure even crisping.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they turn golden and slightly crispy.
Step 4: Cool & Enjoy
- Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool for 5-10 minutes—they will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- Enjoy immediately or store for later!
Notes
- For extra crispy chips, use slightly underripe bananas and slice them as thin as possible.
- Prefer chewy chips? Slice them thicker and air fry for 8-10 minutes instead.
- Want to make them sugar-free? Skip the sugar and just use cinnamon for a naturally sweet snack.
