  • 1 cup pecan halves, toasted
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp bourbon
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and set aside.
  • Spread the toasted pecan halves and dark chocolate evenly in the pie crust.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the pecans and chocolate, ensuring the nuts and chocolate are evenly distributed.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. The center should have a slight jiggle.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or replace it with an additional tablespoon of vanilla extract.
  • To prevent over-browning, you may cover the crust edges with foil halfway through baking.
