Ingredients
Scale
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 1 cup pecan halves, toasted
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp bourbon
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and set aside.
- Spread the toasted pecan halves and dark chocolate evenly in the pie crust.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the egg mixture over the pecans and chocolate, ensuring the nuts and chocolate are evenly distributed.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. The center should have a slight jiggle.
- Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or replace it with an additional tablespoon of vanilla extract.
- To prevent over-browning, you may cover the crust edges with foil halfway through baking.
