Description

Sweet And Spicy Hawaiian Meatball Bowls are a delightful dish combining meatballs with a sweet and spicy sauce and served over rice with pineapple.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey (divided)
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, panko bread crumbs, onion, garlic, egg, soy sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon sriracha, ginger, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, remaining honey, rice vinegar, and remaining sriracha for the sauce.
  5. Serve the cooked rice in bowls topped with meatballs and pineapple chunks. Drizzle with sauce and garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of sriracha.
  • You can substitute ground turkey with chicken or pork as per your preference.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables or serve with a side salad for a balanced meal.
