Description

A delicious and hearty breakfast sandwich featuring tender steak, scrambled eggs, melted cheese, and savory sauce on a toasted bagel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1/2 pound shaved steak
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 bagels, halved
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill

Instructions

  1. Mix together mayonnaise, mustard, and dried dill in a small bowl. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sprinkle with salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions turn slightly brown. Remove onions and set aside.
  3. Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble. Divide the eggs into two portions for each sandwich.
  4. Place shaved steak in a bowl. Add Worcestershire sauce and Montreal steak seasoning, tossing to coat. Melt the last tablespoon of butter in the skillet, add the steak, and cook until just browned. Return the cooked onions to the skillet, mixing with the steak, and separate into two piles. Place one slice of cheese on each pile to melt.
  5. Toast bagels on the skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Spread sauce on each half of the bagels. Add one portion of scrambled eggs to the bottom half of each bagel, then top with the steak, onion, and cheese mixture. Place the top bagel half on each to complete the sandwich.

Notes

  • This recipe serves two hearty breakfasts.
  • Feel free to use different types of cheese according to your preference.
  • You can substitute the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter alternative.
