- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup whole milk (warmed)

- 1 large egg
- For filling: 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- For frosting: 1 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For decoration: Black chocolate sprinkles or mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Combine both mixtures until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- Prepare filling by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it before sprinkling the filling evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly from one edge into a log shape and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Cool rolls slightly before frosting generously and decorating with chocolate sprinkles or chips.
Notes
- Make sure the milk is warmed, but not hot, to properly activate the yeast.
- You can add more cinnamon to the filling if desired for extra flavor.
- For a richer flavor, let the rolls cool completely before frosting.
