- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the brisket with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the brisket for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Layer sliced onions and minced garlic in the slow cooker, then place the seared brisket on top.
- Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper, then pour over the brisket.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until fork-tender.
- Let the brisket rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
