Description

There’s something truly special about a meal that’s simple to make yet packed with flavor, and this Sizzling Homemade Potato Steak Broccoli Foil Pack is just that. It’s juicy, savory, garlicky, and smoky, with tender steak, crisp broccoli, and perfectly roasted potatoes wrapped in a handy foil pack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Foil Pack:

  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak, cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 lb baby potatoes (halved or quartered if large)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning (or a mix of salt, black pepper, and garlic powder)
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

  • Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces and season with olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, steak seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  • Halve or quarter the baby potatoes for even cooking.
  • Toss the broccoli florets with a bit of olive oil for extra crispiness.

Step 2: Assemble the Foil Packs

  • Tear off large pieces of aluminum foil (about 12×12 inches).
  • Divide the potatoes, steak, and broccoli evenly between the foil sheets.
  • Drizzle melted butter over each portion and fold the foil into a sealed packet.

Step 3: Cook the Foil Packs

On the Grill:

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (400°F).
  • Place foil packs on the grill and cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

In the Oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bake the foil packs on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes.

Over a Campfire:

  • Place foil packs over hot coals and cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping occasionally.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Carefully open the foil packs (watch out for steam!).
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
  • Dig in and enjoy the deliciousness!

Notes

  • Adjust the Cooking Time Based on Steak Doneness – If you prefer your steak more on the rare side, cook the potatoes for 10 minutes first, then add the steak and broccoli to the foil pack and finish cooking for another 8-10 minutes.
  • Don’t Skip the Butter! – The melted butter enhances the flavor and helps keep the steak juicy. You can substitute it with ghee or a dairy-free alternative if needed.
  • For Extra Smoky Flavor – If cooking on a grill or campfire, use a little liquid smoke or a sprinkle of smoked paprika to enhance the taste.
