- 12–15 fresh figs
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- A pinch of sea salt
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- Nuts such as walnuts or pistachios (optional)
- Spices such as cinnamon or cardamom (optional)
- Brown sugar (optional)
- Crumpled feta or goat cheese (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Greek yogurt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Rinse the fresh figs gently under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut a small cross in the top of each fig using a sharp knife.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt.
- Place the figs in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle the glaze mixture over the figs.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes, until the figs are tender and caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with any remaining glaze and garnished with your choice of toppings.
Notes
- For an even richer flavor, add some fresh herbs to the glaze.
