Description

A delicious dessert featuring roasted figs, drizzled with honey and balsamic vinegar, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1215 fresh figs
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
  • Nuts such as walnuts or pistachios (optional)
  • Spices such as cinnamon or cardamom (optional)
  • Brown sugar (optional)
  • Crumpled feta or goat cheese (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Greek yogurt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the fresh figs gently under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut a small cross in the top of each fig using a sharp knife.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt.
  4. Place the figs in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle the glaze mixture over the figs.
  5. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes, until the figs are tender and caramelized.
  6. Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with any remaining glaze and garnished with your choice of toppings.
