A delicious roast beef sandwich paired with a zesty horseradish cream sauce, fresh greens, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- Roast Beef: 6 ounces, thinly sliced (deli or homemade)
- Crusty Bread or Rolls: 2 (ciabatta, sourdough, or baguette), lightly toasted
- Swiss, Provolone, or Cheddar Cheese: 2 slices
- Arugula or Baby Spinach: 1/2 cup
- Tomato: 1, sliced
- Red Onion: A few thin rings
- Salt and Black Pepper: To taste
- Prepared Horseradish: 1 tablespoon
- Sour Cream, Mayo, or Greek Yogurt: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Make Horseradish Cream: Mix horseradish with sour cream, mayo, or yogurt until smooth. Adjust to taste.
- Toast Bread: Lightly toast the bread or rolls for structure and flavor.
- Build Sandwich: Spread horseradish sauce on both halves of the bread. Layer with half the roast beef, a slice of cheese, greens, tomato, and onion. Add the remaining beef and cheese.
- Melt Cheese (Optional): Place the open-faced sandwich under a broiler for 1–2 minutes to melt cheese, then close the sandwich.
- Serve: Slice in half and serve immediately.
