- 2 tablespoons zaatar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Brush the olive oil over the puff pastry sheet evenly.
- Sprinkle the zaatar and grated parmesan (if using) evenly over the pastry.
- Cut the pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Twist each strip several times and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the twisted pastry with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve!
Notes
- For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the zaatar.
