Description

Delicious puff pastry trees topped with creamy burrata and a sweet cranberry glaze, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 ball burrata cheese
  • 0.5 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp crushed pistachios
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary or thyme leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly to smooth and stretch. Cut into long triangles resembling trees.
  3. Twist each triangle from base to tip to form a tree-like spiral.
  4. Brush each pastry tree with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed, golden, and crisp. Cool for 2 minutes before topping.
  6. While baking, heat cranberry sauce in a pan. Stir in honey and balsamic vinegar and simmer until syrupy.
  7. Tear burrata into chunks and place onto slightly cooled pastry trees. Drizzle with the warm cranberry glaze.
  8. Garnish with crushed pistachios and fresh rosemary or thyme. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed before using.
  • You can substitute burrata with mozzarella if desired.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by varying the amount of honey.
  • These can be made ahead of time and reheated for serving.
