Description
Delicious puff pastry trees topped with creamy burrata and a sweet cranberry glaze, perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 ball burrata cheese
- 0.5 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp crushed pistachios
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary or thyme leaves
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly to smooth and stretch. Cut into long triangles resembling trees.
- Twist each triangle from base to tip to form a tree-like spiral.
- Brush each pastry tree with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed, golden, and crisp. Cool for 2 minutes before topping.
- While baking, heat cranberry sauce in a pan. Stir in honey and balsamic vinegar and simmer until syrupy.
- Tear burrata into chunks and place onto slightly cooled pastry trees. Drizzle with the warm cranberry glaze.
- Garnish with crushed pistachios and fresh rosemary or thyme. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed before using.
- You can substitute burrata with mozzarella if desired.
- Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by varying the amount of honey.
- These can be made ahead of time and reheated for serving.
