- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 120 millilitres milk
- 60 millilitres vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 50 grams sliced pepperoni
- 30 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg with sugar, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
- Lightly coat the surface of the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and preheat according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Pour portions of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden and set.
- Remove waffles and slice each horizontally into two halves.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bottom waffle halves. Distribute mozzarella and arrange sliced pepperoni on top.
- Place topped waffle halves on a tray and broil briefly until the cheese is just melted.
- Cover fillings with the top halves of the waffles, press gently, and serve immediately.

- For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni or replace it with vegetables.
