Description

Pepperoni Rolls are savory and delicious rolls stuffed with pepperoni and cheese, perfect for a snack or party appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 24 slices beef or turkey pepperoni
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Divide the Dough: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  7. Fill the Rolls: Flatten each dough ball into a small circle. Place 2 slices of beef or turkey pepperoni and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal.
  8. Shape the Rolls: Roll the filled dough balls seam-side down and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake: Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can use turkey pepperoni for a lighter option.
  • Keep an eye on the rolls while baking to avoid over-browning.
