Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 24 slices beef or turkey pepperoni
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Divide the Dough: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
- Fill the Rolls: Flatten each dough ball into a small circle. Place 2 slices of beef or turkey pepperoni and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal.
- Shape the Rolls: Roll the filled dough balls seam-side down and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- You can use turkey pepperoni for a lighter option.
- Keep an eye on the rolls while baking to avoid over-browning.
