Description

Delightfully easy Orange Truffles made with orange cake mix and cream cheese, covered in candy melts and almond bark.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 ounce orange cake mix (I used Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist brand)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 12 ounces orange candy melts
  • 4 ounces white vanilla almond bark

Instructions

  1. Heat treat the dry cake mix in a microwave for two 30-second intervals, stirring after each. Let it cool.
  2. Beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Mix the cooled cake mix with the cream cheese until fully incorporated.
  4. Cover the mixture tightly and chill for 2 hours.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop the cheesecake dough into 1 tablespoon portions, roll into balls, and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Melt the candy wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  8. Roll the cheesecake balls in the melted candy wafers and place on a fork to tap off excess.
  9. Return coated bites to the baking sheet.
  10. Melt the white almond bark in a small bowl using 30-second intervals.
  11. Drizzle melted almond bark over the coated cheesecake bites.
  12. Chill the bites in the refrigerator until serving.

Notes

  • Ensure that the cake mix is completely cool before mixing with cream cheese.
  • Use a toothpick to help remove excess coating from the bottom of the fork.
  • Keep truffles refrigerated until ready to serve for best texture.
