Description

Onion Bombs are a savory dish featuring large onions stuffed with a flavorful beef mixture and wrapped in bacon for the ultimate flavor explosion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel the outer layers off the onions and cut about an inch off the top. Hollow out the centers carefully.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and half of the BBQ sauce until combined.
  4. Stuff each onion generously with the meat mixture.
  5. Wrap each onion tightly with bacon strips and secure them if needed.
  6. Place onions on the baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes, brushing them with remaining BBQ sauce halfway through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add cheese to the beef mixture.
  • Serve with additional BBQ sauce for dipping.
