Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron to the appropriate temperature setting.
- Stir together the dry ingredients including flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch. Whisk in the egg, milk, and oil until combined. Gently mix in the shredded apples.
- Spray the waffle iron with nonstick spray. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the waffle iron. Cook for 3-5 minutes, depending on your waffle iron’s setting. Remove and place on a wire rack to cool.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Dip each waffle donut into the prepared glaze, ensuring even coverage. Flip and allow excess glaze to drip off. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and allow to set.
