Description

Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is a creamy and flavorful dish that combines cooked chicken with a rich blend of cheeses, topped with crispy Ritz crackers and a golden finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (about 280 g) cooked chicken, diced or shredded
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 240 g cottage cheese
  • 240 g sour cream
  • 240 g mayonnaise
  • 1 can (298 g) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup (80 g) crushed Ritz crackers
  • 225 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 120 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C and allow it to fully reach temperature before baking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and cream of chicken soup. Blend thoroughly until smooth and uniform.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the base. Adjust seasonings to taste and mix to incorporate evenly.
  4. Fold in diced or shredded cooked chicken, gently ensuring all pieces are evenly coated with the creamy mixture.
  5. Lightly grease a 33 x 23 cm baking dish. Evenly spread the chicken mixture in the dish for uniform baking.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the entire surface of the chicken mixture to form a flavor-rich base for the topping.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted unsalted butter until all crumbs are evenly coated.
  8. Distribute the buttered cracker mixture evenly over the casserole, ensuring full coverage for consistent texture.
  9. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, spreading it evenly to promote a melty, golden finish.
  10. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  11. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes. This helps the casserole set for cleaner slices.
  12. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired, then serve warm.
