Ingredients
- Granulated sugar, 200 g

- Whole milk, 240 ml
- Melted unsalted butter, 115 g
- Lemon zest, 1 tablespoon
- Fresh lemon juice, 120 ml
- Vanilla extract, 1.25 ml
- Optional powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C and grease a 23 x 23 cm baking dish with unsalted butter or nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add the whole milk, melted unsalted butter, lemon zest, fresh lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth batter forms, noting that it may be slightly runny.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish in a flat layer without stirring.
- Bake in the center of the oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
