Keto Broccoli and Cauliflower Au Gratin with Sausage

Description

A delicious and comforting dish made with broccoli and cauliflower au gratin, enhanced with flavorful sausage.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Cauliflower Florets lightly steamed
  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets lightly steamed
  • 12 ounce Sliced Smoked Sausage
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 Onion diced
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 2/3 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add the sliced sausage to a skillet over medium high heat, and sauté until seared. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
  4. Stir in the onions, and sauté until softened.
  5. Mix in the garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds.
  6. Add in the cream cheese until melted.
  7. Pour in the heavy whipping cream, and whisk to combine well.
  8. Simmer over medium low heat until thickened.
  9. Stir in the shredded cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Combine the cauliflower, broccoli and sausage in a mixing bowl.
  11. Pour the cheese sauce into the mixing bowl, and stir to combine.
  12. Spread the mixture into a 9×9 baking dish.
  13. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs such as thyme or rosemary.
  • This dish can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Substitute the smoked sausage with any preferred protein.
