- 5 medium jalapeños, stems removed, sliced in half, and seeded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 garlic clove, grated or finely minced
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup mild cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- ½ cup Monterey Jack cheese, freshly shredded
- 6–8 strips bacon, cooked until crispy
- 4 slices bread (sourdough or thick white bread)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise, remove stems and seeds, then brush with olive oil and air fry for 8-12 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, grated garlic, black pepper, and onion powder. Mix until smooth.
- Chop cooled roasted jalapeños and fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- Prepare for assembly by organizing ingredients: jalapeño cream cheese, shredded cheeses, bacon, butter, and bread.
- Butter one side of a slice of bread, spread half of the cream cheese mixture on the unbuttered side, layer with bacon and cheeses, then top with another buttered slice of bread.
- Repeat the process for a second sandwich.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, place one sandwich butter-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove sandwiches, let them rest, then cut diagonally and serve hot with ranch dressing if desired.

- For a spicier option, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
- Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
