Description

A unique flavor fusion of Italian ingredients presented as a sushi roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 slices prosciutto
  • 5 to 7 slices Italian salami
  • 1 ball burrata cheese
  • 3 to 4 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 to 2 cups arugula or spinach
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Dried oregano to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Balsamic glaze to taste

Instructions

  1. Line a large cutting board with parchment paper. Lay prosciutto slices parallel, overlapping the edges. Layer salami slices in the same direction, forming an even rectangular sheet.
  2. Place basil leaves in a single layer across the centre of the meat. Distribute arugula or spinach evenly over the basil.
  3. Scatter sun-dried tomatoes across the greens. Tear burrata cheese and spread it loosely over the tomatoes.
  4. Sprinkle with kosher salt, black pepper, and a pinch of oregano. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze over the filling.
  5. Carefully lift the long edge of the prosciutto and begin rolling tightly, ensuring the filling remains compact. Continue rolling to form a uniform log.
  6. Slice the roll into 6 to 8 equal pieces using a sharp knife. Arrange pieces cut-side up on a platter. Serve immediately, garnished with additional balsamic glaze if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, consider using flavored olive oil.
  • Feel free to substitute arugula with your favorite greens.
  • This dish is best served fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for a short time.
