Description

Hot Honey Chicken is a delightful dish that combines sweet and spicy flavors, perfect for a flavorful meal.


Ingredients

  • 5 cups corn flakes
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • ¾ cup honey
  • 1½ tablespoons chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Seal the cornflakes in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  3. In one bowl, mix together the crushed cornflakes, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, and hot sauce.
  5. Add the chicken to the bowl with the egg mixture and toss to coat.
  6. Dredge the chicken thighs in the cornflake mixture, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated.
  7. Arrange the breaded chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 165°F in the thickest part of the chicken.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  10. In a small saucepan, whisk together the honey and chili flakes; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  11. Remove from heat, stir in the hot sauce and apple cider vinegar, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  12. Drizzle the hot honey over the chicken and serve.
