Description

A festive dessert featuring delicate meringue wreaths topped with whipped cream and fresh berries, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites, room temp
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Fresh red currants or cranberries
  • Mini rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
  • Edible pearls or red sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F (95°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar, beating to stiff glossy peaks.
  4. Mix in vanilla and a few drops of green gel color.
  5. Transfer to piping bag fitted with large star tip.
  6. Pipe ring shapes onto baking sheet, leaving a hole in the center.
  7. Bake for 1.5 hours, then turn off oven and let sit 1 hour to dry.
  8. Whip cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks.
  9. Pipe whipped cream over cooled meringues.
  10. Garnish with berries, rosemary, and sprinkles — serve fresh!

Notes

  • Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for best results.
  • The meringues can be made a day ahead and stored in an airtight container.
  • Preparing the toppings can also be done ahead of time, just assemble before serving.
