Description

A delicious and healthy Greek Turkey Burger topped with homemade Tzatziki sauce for a flavorful twist.


Ingredients

  • lbs (680 g) ground turkey (93% lean)
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup cucumber, finely grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 whole wheat or brioche burger buns, toasted
  • 1 cup arugula or baby spinach
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
  • Optional: crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, cucumber, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, dill, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, red onion, parsley, dill, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook turkey patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Lightly toast buns in a skillet or oven.
  5. Spread tzatziki on both bun halves. Add arugula, turkey patty, tomato, red onion, and feta if using. Close with the top bun and serve.
