Description

As a passionate home cook, I find joy in transforming simple ingredients into delightful dishes. One of my all-time favorites is garlic parmesan fries in an air fryer. These crispy, golden fries are not just a side dish; they’re a celebration of flavor and texture that can elevate any meal. I remember the first time I made them. The aroma of garlic wafting through my kitchen was enough to make my mouth water. It felt like a warm hug on a chilly evening.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes: 2 large russet potatoes
  • Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Parmesan Cheese: ¼ cup, grated
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: to taste
  • Black Pepper: to taste
  • Fresh Parsley: for garnish (optional)
  • Chili Powder or Paprika: for a spicy twist (optional)
  • Other Cheeses: for variation (optional)

Instructions

  1. Select and prepare the potatoes by washing and peeling them.
  2. Cut the potatoes into fries, aiming for about ½ inch thick.
  3. Rinse the fries in cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat.
  5. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the fries and toss again.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Air fry the fries for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  8. Once golden brown and crispy, remove the fries and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
  • Experiment with different seasonings and toppings.
