French Toast Cups are a delightful twist on traditional French toast, perfect for breakfast.

- 6 slices brioche or challah bread
- 3 large eggs
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Butter or cooking spray for greasing
- Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or berries for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a standard muffin tin.
- Cut bread slices into quarters and gently press 3–4 pieces into each muffin cup, forming a cup shape.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
- Slowly pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cups, allowing it to soak in.
- Lightly press the bread down to ensure full absorption of the custard.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until puffed, golden, and set in the center.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly before removing from the tin.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a combination of brioche and challah bread.
- These cups can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven.
- Try adding chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
