Description

With the 4th of July just around the corner, I’m reminded of those sunny days filled with laughter, family, and, of course, delicious treats. One of my absolute favorites to whip up are these Festive 4th of July Rice Krispie Treats. They are a quick solution for busy moms like me! Not only do they take mere minutes to make, but they also bring that fun, colorful twist that adds extra cheer to any celebration. Imagine kids and adults alike, delighting in these sweet squares—it’s a surefire way to impress your loved ones!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 bag marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Red, white & blue sprinkles (star-shaped and jimmies)

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Stir in the entire bag of marshmallows and microwave for 45 seconds. Remove and stir.
  4. Return to the microwave for an additional 45 seconds and stir again until completely melted and smooth.
  5. Add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into your prepared pan and distribute it evenly, but don’t press down firmly yet.
  7. Sprinkle your red, white, and blue sprinkles over the top of the mixture.
  8. Gently press the mixture evenly into the pan to secure the sprinkles.
  9. Let the treats cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Customize the sprinkles to suit your celebration theme.
