Featuring layers of rich espresso, smooth Kahlúa, and a creamy vanilla vodka topping, they’re perfect for parties or special occasions. Easy to customize and absolutely stunning to serve, these jello shots are guaranteed to be a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

Bottom Layer:

  • 1 cup freshly brewed espresso (cooled)
  • ½ cup Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin

Top Layer:

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup vanilla vodka
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin

Optional Garnishes:

  • Chocolate-covered espresso beans
  • Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bottom Layer
    • In a mixing bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over the cooled espresso. Let it bloom for 2 minutes.
    • Stir the mixture until the gelatin dissolves completely. Add Kahlúa and mix.
    • Pour the mixture into shot glasses or molds, filling them halfway. Chill in the refrigerator until set, about 2 hours.
  • Prepare the Top Layer
    • In a separate bowl, sprinkle 1 envelope of gelatin over sweetened condensed milk. Let it bloom for 2 minutes.
    • Add the vanilla vodka and stir until the gelatin dissolves.
    • Gently pour the cream mixture over the set espresso layer. Chill again for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Garnish and Serve
    • Before serving, garnish each jello shot with a chocolate-covered espresso bean or a dusting of cocoa powder. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • To make these non-alcoholic, substitute Kahlúa with coffee-flavored syrup and vanilla vodka with a splash of vanilla extract.
  • For sharp layers, ensure each layer is fully set before adding the next.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Avoid freezing, as it can alter the texture.
  • Get creative with presentation! Serve in mini espresso cups or edible chocolate cups for an extra wow factor.
