Ingredients
Scale
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 100 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 115 g diced green chilies, drained
- 225 g cooked and crumbled ground beef or turkey
- 4 large flour tortillas (25 cm diameter)
- 30 g chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, taco seasoning mix, and drained diced green chilies. Stir until the mixture is fully blended, then gently fold in the cooked and crumbled ground beef or turkey.
- Place a tortilla flat on a clean work surface and evenly spread a portion of the filling mixture, leaving a 1 cm border around the edge. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log and wrap it securely in plastic wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Arrange wrapped tortilla rolls in the refrigerator and chill for a minimum of 60 minutes to ensure they are firm for slicing.
- Unwrap the chilled tortilla rolls and, using a sharp knife, cut them into 2.5 cm wide pinwheels. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.
Notes
- Make sure to use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing.
- You can customize the filling with other ingredients such as black beans or corn.
- These can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
