Description

A simple and delicious apple tart made with shortcrust pastry and topped with sweet cinnamon apples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet ready-made shortcrust pastry (approx. 250 grams)
  • 4 medium seasonal apples (such as Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a 23 cm tart pan with baking paper if desired.
  2. Roll out the ready-made pastry and gently fit it into the tart pan. Trim any overhanging edges.
  3. Layer the apple slices in concentric circles over the pastry base.
  4. Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Dot the apples with the cubes of unsalted butter.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Let the tart cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a variation, you can add raisins or nuts to the apples.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for added indulgence.
