Description

A creamy and flavorful chicken pasta dish that is sure to impress anyone who tries it!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 and 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil, for sautéing
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Additional grated parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil penne in a large pot of salted water following package guidance. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 6–8 minutes, or until fully cooked and golden. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in flour, whisking constantly to form a smooth roux.
  4. Slowly whisk in chicken broth followed by heavy cream and parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add sun-dried tomatoes, paprika, dried Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return cooked chicken and penne pasta to the skillet. Toss all ingredients together until evenly coated with the sauce.
  7. Serve warm. Garnish with fresh basil and extra parmesan if desired.
