- 1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) of French onion soup
- 1 1/2 cans of water (use the empty soup can to measure)
- 1/4 cup of butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 lb. chicken breast, cubed and boneless
- 1 1/2 cups of Gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1 packet (1 oz) of dry onion soup mix
- 1 cup crispy French fried onions
Instructions
- Turn on your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the rice evenly in a 13×9-inch pan.
- Mix in cubed chicken, French onion soup, and water. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the mixture.
- Cover the casserole with shredded Gruyere cheese and seal it with foil.
- Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, making sure the rice is soft and the chicken is fully cooked.
- Take the casserole out of the oven and remove the foil. Scatter the French fried onions over the top and pop it back in for 5 minutes to get them nice and crunchy.

- Ensure the chicken is fully cooked before serving.
- You can adjust the amount of Gruyere cheese according to your preference for cheesiness.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
