Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 5 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp Parsley, dried
  • 1 small Sweet onion, diced
  • 1 cup Beef stock
  • 1 (15 oz) can Marinara sauce
  • 8 oz Pasta shells, medium
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Sour cream

Instructions

  • Cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

  • Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in oregano, parsley, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Sprinkle in flour and stir to coat the beef mixture. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  • Pour in beef stock and marinara sauce. Stir and bring to a simmer.

  • Mix in heavy cream and sour cream, stirring until smooth and creamy.

  • Add in cooked pasta shells and cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

  • Simmer on low for a few minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.

  • Want it cheesier? Toss in some mozzarella or Parmesan with the cheddar.

  • This dish reheats beautifully perfect for next-day leftovers!
