Delicious cream cheese cinnamon sugar rolls, perfect for a sweet treat or dessert.

- 250 g refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 115 g unsalted butter, melted
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 120 ml warm milk (43°C)
- 25 g granulated sugar
- 315 g all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 45 g unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until completely smooth. Set aside.
- For shortcut method, unroll crescent dough and press seams tightly to form rectangles. Cut into equal squares.
- For homemade dough, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, egg, and softened butter. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Roll dough into a large rectangle and cut into squares.
- Place 1–2 teaspoons of cream cheese filling in the center of each dough square. Fold over the dough and firmly pinch edges to create a tight seal.
- For oven: Preheat to 190°C. Arrange rolls on baking tray lined with parchment, bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- For air fryer: Preheat to 175°C, arrange rolls in single layer, cook for 6–8 minutes until golden.
- Brush baked rolls while warm with melted butter, then toss immediately in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use homemade dough instead of store-bought.
- Make sure the cream cheese is very soft for easy mixing.
