Description

Delicious cream cheese cinnamon sugar rolls, perfect for a sweet treat or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 115 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 120 ml warm milk (43°C)
  • 25 g granulated sugar
  • 315 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 45 g unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until completely smooth. Set aside.
  2. For shortcut method, unroll crescent dough and press seams tightly to form rectangles. Cut into equal squares.
  3. For homemade dough, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add flour, salt, egg, and softened butter. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Roll dough into a large rectangle and cut into squares.
  6. Place 1–2 teaspoons of cream cheese filling in the center of each dough square. Fold over the dough and firmly pinch edges to create a tight seal.
  7. For oven: Preheat to 190°C. Arrange rolls on baking tray lined with parchment, bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For air fryer: Preheat to 175°C, arrange rolls in single layer, cook for 6–8 minutes until golden.
  9. Brush baked rolls while warm with melted butter, then toss immediately in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use homemade dough instead of store-bought.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is very soft for easy mixing.
