- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups all-purpose flour

- Blue gel food coloring
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened (for icing)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies (for topping)
- Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy (5 minutes). Stir in sugar, egg, yolks, melted butter, and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour and salt until soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough until slightly sticky; add blue food coloring. Let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 to 1½ hours.
- Prepare the filling by combining softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and roll tightly. Cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish; let rise for another 30–45 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- For icing, beat together cream cheese and butter; gradually add powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of blue food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
- Make sure the milk is warm but not hot, as excessive heat can kill the yeast.
- For a richer flavor, let the rolls cool slightly before adding the icing.
