Description

Indulge in a festive treat with these delicious Christmas Oreo Balls, featuring a mix of regular and red velvet Oreos coated in colorful candy melts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 22 regular Oreo cookies
  • 22 Red Velvet Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature, divided
  • 10 oz red candy melts divided
  • 10 oz dark green candy melts divided
  • 10 oz white candy melts divided
  • white sparkly sanding sugar optional

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Pulse the Oreo cookies in a food processor until finely ground and place in a bowl.
  3. Repeat with Red Velvet Oreo cookies, placing them in a separate bowl.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, blend half of the cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add regular Oreo crumbs to the blended cream cheese and mix thoroughly.
  6. Repeat the blending process with the remaining cream cheese and Red Velvet Oreo crumbs.
  7. Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop, form evenly sized Oreo cream cheese balls and shape them into cubes. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Refrigerate for two hours.
  9. Melt the desired color of candy melts for the bows in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  10. Pour the melted candy into silicone bow molds and refrigerate until set.
  11. Melt the candy melts for dipping the truffles using the same microwave method.
  12. Dip each Oreo truffle into the candy melts using a fork, letting excess chocolate drip off before placing on the baking sheet.
  13. Top with sanding sugar and sprinkles if desired.
  14. Repeat the coating process with the remaining truffles in different colors.
  15. Melt the remaining candy melts for drizzling over the truffles.
  16. Use a piping bag to drizzle the melted chocolate over the truffles to create a ribbon effect. Add mini bows once the drizzle sets.
  17. Let the decorations set completely before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier blending.
  • You can use any color candy melts to match your festive theme.
  • Allow truffles to cool completely after coating for the best texture.
