Description

A delicious and decadent bake made with chocolate croissants and hazelnuts, perfect for a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large chocolate croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the torn croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish, sprinkling the chopped hazelnuts over the top.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, ensuring all are soaked. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to absorb.
  5. Use a spoon to dollop the chocolate hazelnut spread in small globs throughout the mixture. Gently swirl it to create a marbled effect but don’t over mix.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving and serve warm.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, you can add more chocolate hazelnut spread on top before serving.
  • This dish is best served warm for maximum indulgence.
