Description
A delicious and decadent bake made with chocolate croissants and hazelnuts, perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large chocolate croissants, torn into pieces
- 1 cup hazelnuts, roughly chopped
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the torn croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish, sprinkling the chopped hazelnuts over the top.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, ensuring all are soaked. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to absorb.
- Use a spoon to dollop the chocolate hazelnut spread in small globs throughout the mixture. Gently swirl it to create a marbled effect but don’t over mix.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for about 5-10 minutes.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving and serve warm.
Notes
- For an extra touch, you can add more chocolate hazelnut spread on top before serving.
- This dish is best served warm for maximum indulgence.
