Description

This Bonnie’s Blue Ribbon Chocolate Dream Cake is a decadent and indulgent dessert made with a moist Devil’s food cake base, infused with sweetened condensed milk and caramel, and topped with a light and fluffy Heath bar-infused whipped frosting. Every bite is a rich, dreamy combination of chocolate, caramel, and toffee crunch—perfect for any special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 1 box Devil’s food cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)
  • 6 oz Hershey caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 Heath bars (1.4 oz each), chopped

For the Frosting:

  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup pulverized Heath candy bar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Prepare the Devil’s food cake mix according to the package instructions and bake as directed.
    • Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Infuse with Caramel & Condensed Milk:

    • Using a wooden spoon handle, poke holes evenly across the warm cake.
    • Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
    • Drizzle the caramel topping over the cake.
    • Sprinkle half of the chopped Heath bars over the top. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • Prepare the Frosting:

    • In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and sugar together until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold in the pulverized Heath candy bar until well incorporated.
  • Assemble the Cake:

    • Spread the whipped cream frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
    • Garnish with the remaining chopped Heath bars.
  • Chill & Serve:

    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to enhance flavor and texture.
    • Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent touch, drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving.
  • The cake is best served chilled but can be enjoyed at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
