- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the Italian sausage and diced yellow onion. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30-45 seconds. Drain off any excess grease.
- Season the mixture with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Add marinara sauce and cooked tortellini to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish, top with shredded mozzarella cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Serve and enjoy your dish warm.
