Description

A delicious and comforting dish featuring cheese tortellini baked with Italian sausage and topped with melted mozzarella cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cheese tortellini
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the Italian sausage and diced yellow onion. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30-45 seconds. Drain off any excess grease.
  5. Season the mixture with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add marinara sauce and cooked tortellini to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish, top with shredded mozzarella cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve and enjoy your dish warm.
