Description
A delectable treat combining crunchy pretzels, sweet caramel, and fresh apples for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 44 Snaps-style mini pretzels
- 44 individually wrapped soft caramels
- 2 Honeycrisp apples
- Sprite or fresh lemon juice, for soaking apple pieces (optional)
Instructions
- Place the mini pretzels in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Unwrap the caramels and set one on top of each pretzel.
- Set oven temperature to 120°C and allow to preheat.
- Dice the Honeycrisp apples into small, bite-sized cubes. To prevent oxidation, soak the pieces in Sprite or lemon juice briefly, then dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Bake the pretzels with caramels for 5–6 minutes, until the caramel visibly softens but does not fully melt.
- Insert a toothpick into each apple piece. Gently press the toothpicked apple cube down into the softened caramel, securing it to the pretzel base.
- Allow the assembled bites to cool at room temperature. Serve and enjoy within a few hours for best texture.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, use additional caramel on top of the apple pieces.
- These bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a day.
- Experiment with different types of apples for varied flavors.
