Description

These Butterscotch Brownies are a delightful treat, rich in flavor and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, stirring until well mixed.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, incorporating each fully before adding the next, along with the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add half the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stir until incorporated, then add the remaining flour and mix until smooth.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans and butterscotch chips, scraping down the bowl to ensure even mixing.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, checking for doneness at 25 minutes. The top should be golden and shiny with a slightly cracked appearance.
  8. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into servings.
