Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1 lb ground pork sausage (or spicy sausage)
- 1 lb ground sage sausage (or any flavor)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup milk (optional for moisture)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together Bisquick, sausage, and cheese. Optionally, add milk if the mixture feels too dry.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces or sides.
Notes
- You can freeze uncooked sausage balls and bake them directly from the freezer. Just add a few minutes to the bake time.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free Bisquick mix.
- Don’t over-mix the dough to avoid making the balls tough.
