Delicious and easy baked apple donuts topped with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry until just combined. Fold in apples.
- Spoon batter into donut pan, filling about 3/4 full. Bake 12-15 minutes.
- Mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Dip cooled donuts in glaze and let set.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using brown sugar instead of white sugar.
- Ensure donuts are completely cool before dipping in glaze for best results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
