Description

A cozy and delicious stovetop oatmeal recipe featuring apples and cinnamon, perfect for a comforting breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into ½-inch pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped apples and cinnamon, stirring occasionally until apples start to soften, about 4 to 5 minutes. Avoid overcooking to prevent mushiness.
  3. Pour in whole milk, add rolled oats and a pinch of salt; stir to combine. Increase heat and bring to a gentle boil, watching carefully to prevent boiling over.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally until oats are tender and most liquid is absorbed, approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
  5. Stir in maple syrup and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • For added texture, consider topping with nuts or seeds before serving.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or halved depending on your needs.
