Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and half of the sliced almonds, reserving the rest for topping.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart, then press remaining sliced almonds on top of each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown, then cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
