Description

These Air Fryer Babybel Cheese bites are a quick and easy snack that’s crispy on the outside and irresistibly gooey inside. Coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and air-fried until golden, they’re perfect for parties, after-school snacks, or late-night cheese cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Babybel cheese rounds, unwrapped and wax removed

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 large egg

  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Prep your dredging station
Place flour in one bowl. Beat the egg in a second bowl. In a third bowl, mix panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  • Coat the cheese
Dredge each Babybel in flour, dip into egg, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps to double-coat.

  • Chill (optional but helpful!)
Place the coated Babybels in the freezer for 15–20 minutes. This helps keep the cheese from oozing too quickly during cooking.

  • Air fry to golden perfection
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray the basket lightly with oil. Place Babybels in a single layer, spray tops lightly, and air fry for 5–6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.

  • Serve immediately
Serve hot with marinara, ranch, or just as they are — molten cheese deliciousness!

Notes

  • Freezing isn’t required, but it really helps prevent cheese blowout.

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket — give each cheese round space so it crisps up evenly.

  • These are best eaten hot, right after frying. They don’t stay crispy for long (but chances are, they won’t last that long anyway!).
